The Proshop League ended last weekend with a battle between the Early Birds and Rasher and Sausages becoming a verbal war of words outside the Proshop on Saturday. Poor Paul Murphy was outnumbered as Maria, Denise, Noelle and Alice played mind games on their prey. Results of the Proshop Winter League will be announced on December 22nd. More details to follow regarding the presentation of the league.

The League was a great success this season and I would like to thank you all for taking part once again. If you are interested in putting a team in for the Proshop Spring League, we are now taking Team Names in the Proshop. The League will begin in January, Team of 4 any combination, €20.00 per team entry. We are open to suggestions on how to run the league in the new year so pop in and share your ideas with us. Do you want to see a Mixed League, separate men and women leagues, how many scores should count, should you be able to bring a sub in.......WE WANT YOUR INPUT to make this 2022 Spring League the best it can possibly be.

Members have been informed the Annual AGM will be held on January 25th now as a result of ongoing Covid restrictions. All members have been notified via email on Saturday 4th November. If you have not received the above email, please contact me in the Proshop and we can check your email address on record. Email is our primary source of information sharing and so having the correct email address on record is essential.

The Ladies White Elephant will take place on Thursday December 9th. A scaled back version of events will take place this year with all donations on the night going to the Lady Captains Charity of choice – The Irish Cancer Society. Announcement of League winners will take place at 5.30pm.

Once again, we would like to remind members that face coverings are mandatory when entering the Proshop. Please do not be offended if you are asked to put your mask on before entering the shop. We all must play our part in curbing the spread of Covid 19 and protecting our staff and members along the way.

A reminder to all members who hold Proshop Accounts, you can request a breakdown of your account at any time and we can email it to you or it can be printed off in a paper copy. A breakdown of the statement can be found below along with a brief explanation of how the Proshop selects stocks and policies and procedures involved in doing so.

Prizes credited from weekly competitions are only applied once the Proshop has been notified of the result of the competition. A delay in crediting your account may occur if we have not received the results.

Regarding Proshop procedures and policies, we have had some queries in relation to ordering stock and regarding the range of stock we currently carry. As with every Proshop, we pick and choose what stock to carry based on the demand of the previous seasons and from customers requests. It is not possible to stock every brand of golf clothing or clubs in the Proshop so we are selective on what stock comes in and we are always open to suggestions. We sadly do not operate on the same scale as Mc Guirks or Halpenny Golf and therefore cannot always compete with their prices but we do try our best. Many brands are selective about where they stock their brand and more importantly the level of business that MUST be done in order to stock a brand.

Example:

If Rush Proshop wanted to stock another golf club brand golf ball

  • Minimum order per year - 60 dozen boxes on FOUR types of golf balls (240 dozen per year)

  • In order to stock the golf ball you must stock the golf wedges - Minimum wedge order 48 wedges per year.

  • In order to stock the wedge you must stock the putter - Minimum 50 putter order per year

This criteria differs with each company in golf and is not limited to club companies, clothing companies have their limits and demands also. I hope this gives you all some idea regarding how we stock the shop and how we operate as a business.

As you can see, it is not a case of opening accounts with every brand and being in a position to order one item as it is needed. Therefore, demand will dictate what the Proshop stocks.

Thank you for your time
